  • https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop/pull/5855

  • Conor put in PR above which should resolve conffiles issue (which caused package not to be upgraded in an unattended manner) and changes apt-daily and apt-daily-upgrade timers. This is based on John's prior work, expanding it to make it honor the value configured via sdconfig.

  Kushal has stepped through this, is seeing issue with RC not being actually installed. If we pushed it out with just the conffile fix, it would probably work, but with timer issues.

  Note for testers that reboot may not occur during testing -- flag is dropped every 12 hours and may not exist yet. Also remember that test key must be installed.

  • Conor proposes a parallel spike on reinstating cron-apt. Will create experimental branch today. Other folks will collaborate on Conor's branch.

  • Kev/John continue unattended-upgrades investigation; Mickael available to help if needed
