SecureDrop 1.6.0

  • Thanks to Kevin, John & others who have helped to improve test plan.
  • (Mickael) One round of QA, no problems except for lingering .pyc files.
    • (John) Updated test plan to clarify when .pyc files are expected
  • (Kev) Added extra row for SRBDS testing. Do we need kernel fix?
  • (Mickael) Will investigate / open a ticket. It's a microcode mitigation.
  • Pre-release messaging available for review (see Slack)
  • John will do NUC7 cron-apt update testing today, Kev will finish up his round

Yesterday:

  • found a bug where we weren't styling replies that failed to decrypt correctly and fixed it here: https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop-client/pull/1151 - now ready for review
  • finished work on https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop-client/pull/1142 - it is now ready for review and should only need a rebase once #1147 is in and if we want to switch out the user icon for a different temporary deleted-user icon (the hard part is done that sets the pixmap instead of user intials for when the user is deleted so now we can just swap out the image)
    • follow up PR will show full name in a hover over the badges and we'll have to come up with text we want to show for the "deleted" user
