1) Restating our priorities

  • Complete SecureDrop 1.7.0 QA and release

  • Complete key Focal deliverables

    • Attempt and document an initial Xenial->Focal migration on hardware
    • Land migration to unattended upgrades
    • Detect incompatible playbooks
    • Early investigation of 5.4 kernel
    • Fixing dual-distro support on apt-test

  • Prepare draft PR for "Safe Deletion" in Journalist Interface based on initial user research findings

2021-01-26: SecureDrop 1.7.0 Release
2021-01-28: PTO: Kushal
2021-01-29: PTO: Erik

After next sprint:

2021-02-09: SecureDrop 1.8.0 QA/Feature Freeze
2021-03-02: SecureDrop 1.8.0 Release (first release w/ Focal support)
2021-04-30: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS end-of-life
TBD       : SecureDrop 2.0.0 (Xenial, v2 support fully removed from codebase)
