CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) are applications that take CAD drawings, and creates "toolpaths" which are ultimately converted to G-CODE that the machine can understand.
OpenBuilds BlackBox runs on Grbl firmware https://github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki/ - an extremely popular open source firmware that is compatible with many different CAM solutions.
The most popular ones are:
- OpenBuilds CAM - Free basic introductory 2.5D CAM
- Vectric Aspire, Cut2D, VCarve - Easy to use CAM software
- AutoDesk Fusion 360 - advanced CAD/CAM application
- LightBurn - CAM for Laser Raster/Vector
- Many more, if a CAM application has support for Grbl 1.1, you can use it with your BlackBox
Refer to the following sections of the documentation for more information about configuring these to work with your OpenBuilds BlackBox
