Summary

  • Tooling: handle full X.Y OCP versions, including 5-only catalog sets, throughout rendering and validation. make build-catalogs renders in a staging dir, validates every catalog, then publishes with rollback. Tests run in disposable sandboxes instead of the working checkout. make test-image validates the built image and checks it over gRPC.
  • update-bundle: require completed TestPassed snapshot results and an exact bundle csv-version match; commit only catalog files.
  • Image CI: test only changed catalog versions, falling back to all configured catalogs when shared build inputs change.
  • Catalog: add catalog-5-0 with provisional Submariner 0.24 (0.24.0 + 0.24.1, pinned to sha256:a8bb318b…), via drop-versions.json "5.0": "0.23" (inclusive 0.24 minimum).
  • Docs: add-ocp-version.md points at the submariner-release-management onboarding helper and documents the OCP 5 OPM base image and the installation evidence still required.

This catalog does not establish operator runtime compatibility on OCP 5. The OCP 5 minimum stream is still a rollout policy decision.

The Konflux build pipelines for catalog-5-0 are in #82 (stacked on this PR).

Verification

  • make shellcheck, make mdlint, make yamllint pass (only the catalog-template.yaml document-start warning, which is already on main)
  • make validate-catalogs: all 10 catalogs including catalog-5-0
  • make test (full, authenticated): all pass
  • make build-catalogs from the template: all 10 catalogs regenerate with no diff

Handle full OCP versions and 5-only catalog sets throughout rendering
and validation. Stage catalog publication with rollback, isolate tests
from working checkouts, and validate the built image through gRPC.

Require completed snapshot tests and exact bundle versions before
catalog updates. Fetch only the requested package and preserve failed
test status while cleaning up extracted files.

Test only changed catalog versions in image CI, falling back to every
configured catalog when shared build inputs change. Document the target
OPM image and the OCP 5 installation evidence still required.

Add the OCP 5.0 catalog with provisional Submariner 0.24, using the
existing template's default stream and 0.24.1 head. Retain 0.24.0 for
the upgrade graph; the inclusive 0.24 minimum is the drop-versions.json
0.23 cutoff. The 0.24.1 bundle is pinned to digest
sha256:a8bb318b8afa37daf2ce9394d80c46224e872b593934fbb68fd89e20e6665f84.
This catalog does not establish operator runtime compatibility on OCP 5,
and the actual OCP 5 catalog minimum remains a rollout policy decision.

The Konflux build pipelines for catalog-5-0 are added separately.
