Installation Guide

This guide will walk you through the steps to install Infoscava on your system.

1. Windows Installer (Recommended)

The easiest way to get Infoscava up and running on Windows is to use the provided executable installer. This method does not require any prior Python environment setup.

Steps:

  1. Download the Installer:

    • Go to the Infoscava Releases page.
    • Locate the latest stable release (e.g., v2.1.9).
    • Download the Infoscava_installer_2.1.9.exe file.

Alternatively, download from SourceForge: Download Infoscava

  2. Run the Installer:

    • Once the download is complete, double-click the Infoscava_installer_2.1.9.exe file to start the installation wizard.
    • Note: As Infoscava is an open-source project and not digitally signed by a paid certificate authority, you might encounter a "Windows protected your PC" or SmartScreen warning. If so, click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to proceed with the installation.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts of the installer. You can choose the installation directory and whether to create desktop shortcuts.
  3. Complete Installation:

    • Click "Finish" once the installation is complete.
  4. Launch Infoscava:

    • You can now launch Infoscava from your desktop shortcut (if created) or the Start Menu. If the installer added it, you can also launch it by right-clicking on any file in File Explorer and selecting "Open with Infoscava."

2. Linux Installer

The official Linux installer for Infoscava is coming soon! Please check back on the Infoscava GitHub Releases page for updates.
