Scope

Introduces a pure, inactive foundation for DKF Development Modes, based on v0.10.0 main and deliberately isolated from the still-draft v0.10.1 Live UI Preview PR #41.

Delivered

  • Five developer-facing modes: Rapid, Balanced (default), Spec-Driven, Doc-Driven, Maintenance & Evolution.
  • Maintenance as an existing-project context that inherits one of the four methodologies and requires repository audit.
  • Explicit v1 machine-readable selection schema and strict runtime policy resolver.
  • Profile defaults → discretionary custom policies → only-strengthening project overrides; field-level provenance.
  • Non-configurable mandatory-control manifest, without modifying existing Autopilot autonomy or acceptance gates.
  • Node regression suite MOD-001 through MOD-011, included in npm run release:validate.
  • Architecture/ADR, acceptance specification, docs index, and repository memory.md.

Deliberately deferred

Initialization UI, CLI/persistence, recommendation engine and change history (002); actual Autopilot/documentation policy consumption (003–004); mode migration and end-to-end acceptance (005). No public package version change, tag, release, npm publication or runtime permission change.

Verification and acceptance checklist

  • Ubuntu CI completed npm run release:validate (PASS).
  • Windows CI completed npm run release:validate (PASS).
  • Inspect actual diff and independently verify MOD-001–MOD-011.
  • Confirm project override validation does not weaken existing controls.
  • Reconcile/rebase against PR DKF v0.10.1: Live UI Preview & Visual Verification #41 after its own pending Product Owner acceptance; re-run CI on final merge base.
  • Product Owner acceptance. Keep draft until all applicable gates are satisfied.

This draft does not claim local Antigravity/private consumer validation or final acceptance. Increment 001 contains no UI work requiring a browser preview.

GitHub Actions evidence — 27 September 2026

Decision: Automated checks PASS; keep draft for independent criterion review, Product Owner acceptance and base-branch reconciliation. No release or publication authorized.

This draft is being closed as a stale implementation branch, not rejected work. Its policy architecture is preserved at head ef3b118004a846ab9989dc41b995f5c8494d4064 and has been carried forward into Issue #50. The branch predates v0.11.0/v0.11.1 by 136 mainline commits and must not be merged directly. Reimplementation/reconciliation will start from current main, independently verify MOD-001–MOD-011, and preserve all mandatory reliability controls.
