Embedders need to request and observe first-responder state without introspecting the wrapped AppKit view. Keep the binding optional so existing focus behavior is unchanged.
Give inline previews and list editing first refusal, then offer Escape, Tab, and Shift-Tab to the host exactly once before preserving AppKit fallback.
Treat top-level Backtab and disabled or code-context Tab as unhandled while retaining engine ownership for nested outdent and maximum-depth Tab.

Fork-only integration and release-candidate branch. Combines upstream draft PRs nodes-app#175, nodes-app#176, nodes-app#177, and nodes-app#178 on frozen upstream baseline 08ff3c0. Local gates: 43 targeted tests in 5 suites, clean full run of 510 tests in 72 suites, SwiftPM build, dependency-free core target graph, and Demo macOS build. This PR exists to run CI and is not intended to merge into main; see FORK_CHANGES.md.
