A curated, sourced read of two declassified US government UFO archives.
| Archive | Span | Pages | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| PURSUE Release 01 (Pentagon, war.gov/UFO) | 2026-05-08 | 4,185 across 162 files | First sanctioned US UAP file release of this scale in history |
| FBI 62-HQ-83894 (flying-discs case file) | 1944–1973 | 1,262 OCR'd pages, 6 sections | Released as a component of PURSUE Release 01 |
This repo is built off the actual files. Every case page cites the FBI serial, AARO document ID, or PURSUE file URL. The raw OCR transcripts are included so any claim can be traced back to the page it came from.
Read the PURSUE master report. It pulls the four highest-signal cases out of 162 files and shows what the news coverage missed.
The four cases that matter:
A December 1972 lunar-surface photo with three dots in a triangle. AARO's verbatim language: "potentially the result of a physical object." That phrasing does not appear anywhere else in the release. The government has retrieved the original film. Full re-analysis is pending. This is the case to track.
A 130 to 195-foot bronze metallic object, "materialized out of a bright light in the sky" at a US test site, "disappearing instantaneously." Three FBI 302 interview reports. An FBI Lab composite-sketch overlay on the real site photo. The most evidentially layered single case in the release. Almost no press coverage.
A senior US intelligence official, on the record in an FBI 302, describing a "super-hot" orb that outran a pursuit helicopter for 20 miles at a US military facility in late 2025. Followed by 30 minutes of orbs flaring up and down across the area. Highest-rank single witness in the release.
Seven federal law enforcement officers, three two-officer teams, watched orange orbs emit smaller red orbs at least five times across two days. AARO's own assessment: "among the most compelling within AARO's current holdings."
This is not a "they're hiding aliens" repo. AARO openly identifies mundane causes inside the unresolved tranche, including Russian SU-27/35 fighters and platform parallax. The cases that survive AARO's filter survive because the data is insufficient to resolve them, not because anyone is hiding alien explanations.
This is also not a debunk repo. Several cases in the release have multi-witness evidentiary structure that would warrant follow-up in any other domain.
The honest read: this is the most evidentially structured public-domain UAP material in decades, with several genuinely strange cases buried under viral noise.
The May 8, 2026 Pentagon disclosure. 162 files at war.gov/UFO/, vetted by AARO, published under the renamed Department of War. Contains the four cases above plus a Mexican alien-corpses State Department cable, a 1994 Kazakhstan 747 encounter, the COMETA report, the original 1944 "foo fighters" SHAEF file, and a Kennedy-era memo on alien diplomatic policy.
The FBI's flying-discs case file, 1944 through 1973. 1,262 OCR'd pages mined into 50+ standalone case writeups. Includes Kenneth Arnold's June 1947 Cascade sighting (the origin event of the modern UFO phenomenon), the Hottel "three saucers" memo, the Maury Island hoax, the Mantell P-51 fatality, Project Twinkle, Project Grudge, the Scully/Hoover communist investigation, Oak Ridge atomic-installation overflights, and Hoover's institutional response patterns to civilian UFO correspondence.

The release contains AARO's own commentary on selected cases. These are revealing:
- DOW-UAP-PR21 (Iraq 2022). Mission report described UAP as "probable SU-27/35." AARO comment: SU-27 and SU-35 are Russian Federation military aircraft. (Russian fighter, not anomaly.)
- DOW-UAP-PR45 (Southern US 2020). AARO comment: "The area of contrast's apparent increase in size is likely to be at least partially attributable to the U.S. platform closing the distance between itself and the source of the detection." (Parallax artifact.)
- DOW-UAP-PR38 (Middle East 2013). Modal text reads "Resolved as an Aircraft, Middle East 2013", included in the unresolved tranche despite already being resolved.
The implication: AARO will identify mundane causes when it can. The cases left unresolved are unresolved because the data is insufficient. That is the strongest argument against the "they're sitting on the truth" framing, and the strongest argument for taking the cases that did survive AARO's filter seriously.
- The Apollo 17 NASA + DOW re-analysis. If it lands on a definitive identification, physical or not, it changes the disclosure conversation in a way no infrared sensor clip can.
- The Anna Paulina Luna whistleblower videos. Expected in a later PURSUE tranche.
- Sensor metadata releases. If AARO publishes the full sensor records for the Bronze Ellipsoid, USPER, or western-US orbs cases, those become independently analyzable.
- Whether the Bronze Ellipsoid case gets institutional follow-up. Most evidentially structured case in the release; almost no investigation.
This archive was assembled from a personal Obsidian knowledge base built off the original PURSUE files and FBI scans. Every case page in this repo includes:
- Source citation (FBI serial number, AARO document ID, or war.gov file URL)
- Original-language quotes preserved verbatim
- Page references where applicable
- A "Significance" note explaining why the case matters in the larger archive
The FBI 62-HQ-83894 file was mined systematically across 41 passes between May 8 and May 10, 2026, using a CIC investigative-priority + high-signal grep + cluster-adjacency methodology. That methodology is not perfect, it favors credentialed witnesses, military-adjacent incidents, and multi-agency coordination patterns. Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 are still being scanned.
The PURSUE Release 01 inventory follows AARO's own metadata exactly. Where AARO and the news cycle disagreed about which cases mattered, this archive sides with the metadata.
Voice and analysis are mine. The files are the government's.
Government records (FBI files, AARO documents, State Department cables, war.gov-hosted PDFs) are public domain in the United States.
