Summary
Follow-up to #2426. Web Chat session restoration asks the server for the current durable tail, but the HTTP response continued following the live stream after reaching it. Framework proxies can keep that upstream response alive after browser navigation, accumulating local Workflow World listeners on every restoration. Tail-indexed requests now close after delivering the fixed replay range; ordinary live stream requests are unchanged.
Fresh Web Chat projects also mixed Shiki 4 with
@streamdown/code@1.1.1, whose latest release requires Shiki 3, causing generated projects to fail type checking. The scaffold now pins its direct Shiki packages to the compatible 3.23.0 release.Validation
Reproduced the listener accumulation with a fresh Next.js Web Chat app on eve 0.44.2 and confirmed the affected session had multiple orphaned stream connections. The complete eve channel unit suite passes, including new coverage for absolute and tail-relative replay boundaries and underlying-stream cancellation. A freshly generated Web Chat project passes type checking with the aligned Shiki versions; focused scaffold coverage and the full registry check also pass.
