# Vercel Speed Insights Installation - Implementation Report
## Summary
Successfully installed and configured Vercel Speed Insights for this Next.js 16.0.0 App Router project.
## Changes Made
### 1. Package Installation
- Installed `@vercel/speed-insights` version 1.2.0 using pnpm
- Updated `package.json` to include the new dependency
- Updated `pnpm-lock.yaml` with the new package and its dependencies
### 2. Component Integration
**Modified: `app/layout.tsx`**
- Added import statement: `import { SpeedInsights } from '@vercel/speed-insights/next'`
- Added `<SpeedInsights />` component inside the `<body>` tag, placed after the `<Analytics />` component
- This follows Next.js 13.5+ App Router best practices for the root layout
## Implementation Details
### Why These Changes?
- **Next.js Version**: The project uses Next.js 16.0.0 with App Router, so we used the `@vercel/speed-insights/next` import path
- **Placement**: The component was added to the root layout (`app/layout.tsx`) to ensure Speed Insights is active across all pages
- **Position**: Placed inside the `<body>` tag after `<Analytics />` to maintain consistency with the existing analytics setup
### Testing Performed
1. ✅ Build verification: `pnpm run build` completed successfully
2. ✅ Linting: `pnpm run lint` passed with no new errors introduced
3. ✅ Type checking: TypeScript compilation successful during build

## Notes
