HelloUniverse is a telescope for armchair astronomy, built upon the Aladin Lite web app. It brings images of the cosmos in optical, infrared and gamma rays to iOS devices and is available in the App Store: here. There is a quick start tutorial here.

It can be used like a backyard telescope, but with far clearer images provided by the Digitized Sky Survey, DSS2. Like a backyard telescope it can be targeted using object names or coordinates, and an integrated star map shows you what you are looking at. There are two settings that may help with this: "Aladin Field of View" draws a frame on the map around the Aladin Field, and "32 mm Eyepiece" draws a circle around what you would see with a 32 mm eyepiece on a Celestron C8.

There will be more versions released to the store, and this code has a start on them.
