As per @ huvqi on discord:
ON THE STEALTHBURNER, THE COLDEND IS MOUNTED WITH AN INTERFERENCE FIT !!! See the pictures. The coldend is free on front and rear (0.2mm clearance, measured in CAD, and can be seen by translumination), but the two sides, left and right, interfere with the cardridge (conical shape). Again, see CAD.
I knew there was an interference fit, and have always been thinking it is on purpose. The reminder was a strange phenomenon : consistency was depending on how I was tightening the two long screws at the bottom... Took the cardrgidge apart, cut some plastic (and my fingers with the filament cutter). Magic, after 3 days struggling with this probe.
As per his instruction I made more space so that the HotEND will not touch the plastic mount
