🐍 Welcome to the PySorta Wiki

🧠 The Mission: An Imposter-Free Zone

PySorta isn’t just a tool — it’s a movement.

We created this as a safe, welcoming project for those who’ve ever felt like they don’t belong in tech. Whether you're a beginner or just starting to learn collaboration tools like GitHub, you’re invited. This project is your chance to contribute confidently and gain real-world open-source experience.

💬 “I’ve never collaborated on a public project before — I’m learning by doing. Let’s learn together.”

🚀 What is PySorta?

PySorta is a lightweight Python utility that helps you clean up and organize folders based on:

  • ✅ File Type (e.g., Images, Documents, Code)
  • 📅 Date Modified
  • 📏 File Size

It's perfect for decluttering your Downloads folder or managing a messy desktop. And yes — it even works on iOS using [Pythonista](http://omz-software.com/pythonista/).

📅 Project Roadmap

✅ Short-Term Goals

  • Build a simple command-line utility
  • Add basic modes (type, date, size)
  • Create project logo and branding
  • Enable GitHub Discussions and Actions
  • Build index.html and deepdive.html for GitHub Pages

🔭 Long-Term Goals

  • Add drag-and-drop GUI (Tkinter or web)
  • Add more intelligent file classification
  • Translations for prompts
  • Automate weekly folder cleanup
  • Optional "undo" for organization
