GoatCounter is:

an open source web analytics platform available as a free donation-supported hosted service or self-hosted app. It aims to offer easy to use and meaningful privacy-friendly web analytics as an alternative to Google Analytics or Matomo.

I add a single script to the <head> of each page which enables this privacy-friendly analytic

For an example of GoatCounter in use for a small site, see https://liputenpo.goatcounter.com/

We discussed it early on in the new websites development and don’t see any value in analytics right now.

We discussed it early on in the new websites development and don’t see any value in analytics right now.

I'd like to bring back the discussion if possible. I am interested in improving the website (it is good already!) and analytics would help to see which bits are actually being used, and linked from where.

What are the concerns with adding this?
