When can we expect the s2i-php-container for php 8.3 to be available?

These benchmarks for Drupal 10.1.1 (we're using 10.2.2) show a 53% improvement going from 8.2 to 8.3
https://kinsta.com/blog/php-benchmarks/

We would like to skip the upgrade to PHP 8.2 and go straight from 8.1 to 8.3

Results (Drupal 10):

  • PHP 8.1: 922 req/s.
  • PHP 8.2: 941 req/s.
  • PHP 8.3: 1432 req/s. (+53% more requests per second!)

We need to upgrade asap as we need this performance improvement.

It'll soon be three months since this request was openned. Any idea on a timeline for this? Roadmap?

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

php 8.3 is not planned for RHEL8 or 9.

However, Fedora 40 already contains php 8.3[1] so there is a possibility to add such container image to sclorg. We did not planned to add it just now, but it should be added eventually. We welcome PRs with patches for it - that would speed up the process.
