I'm building GTA FREE STEM to make free STEM programs easier to find across the Greater Toronto Area. This is the native SwiftUI app for iPhone, with iPad, Mac Catalyst, and an Apple Watch companion in the project.

These unretouched iPhone simulator captures use the a6b1a54 app source in normal runtime. Home was captured October 25 with 1,882 public-feed listings. Browse was captured October 27 after 20 seconds, with 1,856 listings and a real Toronto Public Library result. Counts change; these captures do not prove physical-device performance or the later build 14. Capture details and older screenshots.
- Open Search or Opportunities, then enter an interest, library, or city. Use Filters to narrow by age, category, place, and other available fields.
- Open a listing to review its age range, schedule, location, and original provider. Use the provider link to confirm availability and any registration steps.
- Save an activity to return to it later on this device. Use High School for volunteer hours, co-op, SHSM, mentorship, and related pathways.
- If the app opens from an offline backup, check the source and last-checked date, then refresh when connected.
Search by location, age, category, and language, or use the High School section for volunteer hours, co-op, and mentorship. Open a program's source page, get directions with Apple Maps, and keep a shortlist on your device.
There's no account to create. Your profile, saved opportunities, searches, and settings stay on-device. Nearby search requests your location only when you ask for it. The app has no ads, purchases, or third-party analytics.
The app reads the public opportunity feed from the web repository and keeps a local cache for offline browsing. The feed pipeline handles source collection and updates; the native app doesn't crawl provider websites.
Version 1.0 (14) has processed successfully and is available to existing internal TestFlight testers. The public App Store release is still in preparation. Current work includes responsiveness fixes, complete description translations, and further device testing.
The screenshots above show the same interface from an earlier source capture. They are simulator images; physical-device performance remains a separate check.

Open GTAFreeSTEM.xcodeproj in Xcode, select the GTAFreeSTEM scheme, and run it on an iOS 17 or newer simulator or device. The tracked project opens directly; XcodeGen is optional.
To build and run tests, replace the destination with a simulator installed on your Mac:
xcodebuild build -project GTAFreeSTEM.xcodeproj -scheme GTAFreeSTEM -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone 17'
xcodebuild test -project GTAFreeSTEM.xcodeproj -scheme GTAFreeSTEM -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator, name=iPhone 17'GTAFreeSTEM/: iPhone, iPad, and Mac Catalyst app.GTAFreeSTEMWatch/: Apple Watch companion.GTAFreeSTEMTests/: tests.docs/: setup, privacy, and release notes.
Help with accessibility, translations, device testing, and bug fixes is welcome.
MIT for the app's source and documentation. Program descriptions and third-party names and materials belong to their respective owners.
