Contribution Guidelines
Welcome to the wiki page of The R Project in GCI 2019!
There are few guidelines you have to keep in mind while contributing to R Project during GCI
-
When assigning a task, please make sure you totally understand it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in our GCI Gitter Chatroom
-
Complete the task according to the description provided and submit it for review. Complete it as fast as you can as there is a specific time limit for every task
-
Review process can take up to 36hrs. so do not worry that your task is not reviewed, it will be reviewed at its pace. Do not ask for reviews in the gitter chatroom. If somehow your task is not reviewed for more than 36hrs., you might ask the mentors in the GCI Gitter Chatroom stating that your task is not reviewed along with the link to the task.
-
After your task is reviewed, it might get approved if it's up to the mark, otherwise some changes can be suggested. If a mentor suggests changes keep in mind to not ping the mentor personally If you have any doubts just ask your doubts in the Gitter Chatroom
-
As a general practice, do not ping any mentor personally until he specifically asks for it. If a mentor asks for you to ping personally, it will be a specific doubt or task, if its resolved do not unnecessarily ask him for favors.
-
If a mentor suggests some changes, abide by them, they will help you regarding that. But do not argue about how legitimate the changes are. Mentors are
mentors
for a specific reason, they are experienced in the field. -
If your task is approved, you may go ahead and assign yourself another task.
Hope you people have a good time contributing in R Community! If there are any queries/suggestions feel free to ask them in our GCI Gitter Chatroom
