What's Changed

  • HK rewrite resource state/sweep (@dorijanko)
    • This improves gen times greatly and also fixed some outstanding bugs (ex. flower quest refusing to exist in playthrough)
  • implement ER support (@TheAvonian)
    • Currently requires the Nightly client mods to work
    • This also means the starting locations that require ER have been re-enabled in the yaml, so using pure random start location with ER turned off will run into more option errors than before
    • Has one outstanding bug where the generated map may not have a valid flowerquest path for grey mourner and/or godseeker. If this happens the generator will error out early. It should be rare enough and early enough that retrying is a fine stop-gap for now, but will look into ways to mitigate in the future.
    • There is currently no way to not shuffle white palace rooms, I'll look into tying this to the white palace exclusions option, but no promises on timeline (only really relevant on the room option)
    • Edit: doors er type is bugged and will not work on this release
  • adds option groups, for the most part this isn't visible but things in template yamls and option creator should be slightly more organized now

This release has been fairly extensively tested, but there are a lot of moving parts so be sure to report any issues you see

  • Add workaround to worlds breaking on early collectionstate
    • to use make sure all hk players are using vanilla kings pass start location

Changes:

  • Fix white palace exclusions plus a test to make sure it stays working
  • Filtered down start locations to exclude ER-only starts until ER is implemented

New Beta APworld for Hollow Knight

Current Archipelago and APMapMod releases are compatible

Changes include:

  • Years(?) of logic updates from upstream
  • Tuk egg is now randomized
  • Alternate start locations
    • Note: not all start locations are valid for all settings, and currently random choices are not supported "nicely" so expect all random yamls to get option errors
  • Shriek Pogos and Slope Ball options

A warning:
Generation times currently are much longer than many other worlds, ideally part of this alpha process is optimizing the heavy parts of hk generation and bringing it back down to reasonable.
