Add device events (attach and detach) with better logger and config storage

• Device events (attach and detach
• Better config storage
• Introduce a better logger, which will be useful in the future for reporting logs to a text file which users can attach if they are having issues.
• fix prettier
• added startup delay
• permissions checks are much nicer initially
