### Compilation failed with redefinition errors

If you encounter an error such as:

```log
error: redefinition of ‘std::unique_ptr<precice::Participant> impl’
```

it might be caused by CMake’s Unity (Jumbo) build mode. To work around this issue, disable Unity builds when configuring preCICE:

```bash
cmake -DPRECICE_BUILD_UNITY=OFF ../
```

and consider [opening an issue](https://github.com/precice/precice/issues).
