Checklist for the first release. PR #10 (v0.1.0 content) is merged; the workflows were removed afterwards (no CI by decision).

• version: 0.1.0 in _extensions/owd/_extension.yml
• NEWS.md entry for 0.1.0 reviewed
• PR from dev into main merged (v0.1.0: owd-typst and owd-docx formats driven by the brand #10, then the CI removal PR)
• template.docx opened in Word by the maintainer; review notes applied (spacing, margins, table borders, font substitutes)
• Reopen template.docx after a Word restart to confirm Atkinson Hyperlegible and Source Code Pro show (fonts installed 2026-09-03)
• Tag v0.1.0 on main and create the GitHub release with the NEWS entry as the body
• From an empty directory: quarto add openwashdata/quarto-owd@v0.1.0, quarto use brand openwashdata/brand, render a one paragraph document to both formats
• From an empty directory: quarto use template openwashdata/quarto-owd and render
• Every install command in the README verified as written
• Announce in the openwashdata channels and link from the openwashdata/brand README (replace its "a washr::use_brand() helper is planned" note, which is out of date since washr 1.1.0, with pointers to both consumers)
• Sync dev with main and push origin/dev

Closed by the maintainer on 2026-09-03: v0.1.0 is on main and dev is in sync. The announcement goes into the VMOST overall strategy update and the openwashdata newsletter rather than a separate post.
