Lyrics

[Intro]
Twelve years on Arch.
Built from a wiki page and spite.
I don't need a chef.
I don't need a church.
I rice my own box — the hard way. Always did.

[Verse 1]
It's dotfiles in a trench coat.
It's bash with a marketing budget.
Call it a distro? It's a script with a landing page.
Ten million and a foundation —
now the desktop's got patrons.
They put an agent on the bar.
That's how the craft dies.
Read the security posts. Then read them again.
Year of the Linux desktop —
I've heard that since I had hair.
You left the Mac for a wallpaper and a menu?

[Pre-Chorus]
So I downloaded it to bury it.
I had the thread half written.
Screenshots ready. Caption ready.
Look at this toy.
Look at this cult.

[Chorus]
Beautiful, modern, opinionated —
that's what they keep saying.
Omarchy is omakase, it's right there in the name.
Chef already plated it.
I came to bury it.
I came to bury it.

[Verse 2]
Installer finished in under a minute.
I was still loading the argument.
Reach for the mouse — nothing.
Nothing here wants me clicking.
Super Space — one menu, everything under it.
Windows land like they'd been waiting.
Forty seconds and my hands never left the keys.
And I said: that's not a computer, that's a toy.
Then I said: wait.
Why don't I want to stop.

[Verse 3]
Whole desktop in one process.
No Waybar. No Walker. No tape.
Configs in Lua, state where state belongs.
I said give me a panel, a key, a theme —
and the box just did it.
I talked to the box.
The box became mine.
Plugins are the new apps.
Neovim: swim or sink.
Theming till two, lights the color of the config.
I don't want to go to bed.

[Bridge]
Fine. Say it out loud.
Elite money, public code — I'll take the joke,
I'm not too proud to take the joke.
I was the clown on the dock,
calling it a meme,
calling it a cult with themes.
If it's not your jam there's a hundred other doors.
I walked through this one.
Laugh at myself. With style.

[Chorus]
Beautiful, modern, opinionated —
turns out that's not a slogan, that's the receipt.
Omarchy is omakase, it's right there in the name.
Chef already plated it,
and I came back for more.
Mouse out the window.
Agent on the bar.
I came to bury it.
I stayed.

[Outro]
I love computers.
That's why I tried it.
That's why I'm still here.
You coming?
Or watching?

Old-guard Arch user downloads Omarchy to dunk on it, then stays.
The track only needs the MP3 and the playlist entry.
