Scheduled Host Upgrade - Tue, September 22, 2026

We are writing to inform you of scheduled maintenance that will affect your virtual machine(s) on hypervisor node openpower11.osuosl.bak.

We are upgrading the operating system on this hardware. Because these virtual machines use storage local to the host, they cannot be moved elsewhere while the work is carried out. They will be shut down before the upgrade begins and started again once the host has been upgraded and verified.

We are upgrading the operating system on this hardware. Because these virtual machines use storage local to the host, they cannot be moved elsewhere while the work is carried out. They will be shut down before the upgrade begins and started again once the host has been upgraded and verified.

The Tuesday outage will make our RHEL 8 Power 9 ppc64le release machine unavailable, which would affect Node.js 26 and nightly builds (cc @nodejs/releasers).

Testing capacity for the test machines on all three of the days will be reduced accordingly but we'll not be blocked as we'd have at least one machine online for RHEL 8 and RHEL 9.
