Adds an option checkFile which optionalizes the generation of checks. As it stands, files only works with checked-in file, but if you want to use it with non-checked in files (e.g. avoiding duplication of editor configs and other things), the checks defined by the module fails to get a diff because the file technically doesn't exist in the source tree. This PR makes that check optional.
I left the default to generate those checks for now. Also down to rename the option from checkFile to something else if you find it more clear.
