Why Contribute

Through http://metacademy.org, we're trying to build a useful educational resource, and based on the feedback and usage statistics we've seen, we're on the right path. But we're not there yet. By contributing, you can help shape this project and make it into the tool you think should exist.

Introduce yourself

  1. Join the metacademy-developer mailing list: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/metacademy-dev
  2. Send a brief email to the list and include (1) a 1 sentence history of your life and (2) why you're interested in Metacademy and (3) how you'd like to contribute to Metacademy or what you'd like to work on

Consider an Intro Project

These projects are fairly modular and are a good way to become familiar with the code. Of course, you can feel free to pursue whatever project you'd like. But if you choose one of these, the current developers can help you get started.

  • Implement image capabilities for Roadmaps (how to do this secure)

  • Improve Metacademy's search feature, e.g. associate search tags with the concepts and roadmaps

  • Redesign the Concept List Page: e.g. show most popular concepts first

  • Redesign the User Account Page

  • Write tests for the "user_management" app

  • Improve API documentation
