Summary

The Quick Flow previously implemented directly from the instruction with no planning step. This adds a lightweight plan phase and a human gate before implementation.

  • New speckit.extendedflow.quick-plan command: produces a minimal plan.md (files to change, verification, risks) from the instruction and preserves instruction.md. It does not write code, specs, or task lists.
  • New quick-plan command step followed by a quick-plan-gate gate (on_reject: abort) before quick-implement.
  • quick-implement now reads the approved plan.md and follows it.
  • init-quick.py clears stale instruction.md/plan.md on reuse.
  • Command registered in extension.yml and given the unattended preamble prepend in preset.yml.
  • Docs (AGENTS.md, README.md, docs/flows.md, docs/reference.md, docs/troubleshooting.md, bundle.yml) updated to reflect the new step and the reversal of the prior "no human gates" design.

Test plan

  • python3 -m unittest discover -s tests — 60 tests pass.
  • New static contract asserts plan → gate → implement ordering in quick-flow.yml.
  • Extended the init-quick reuse test to cover stale instruction.md/plan.md.

Notes

Version pins remain at 0.17.0; cut a release with scripts/release-version.py when ready.

The Quick Flow now generates a minimal plan from the instruction and pauses at a human gate before implementing. quick-plan writes plan.md (and preserves instruction.md); the approved plan guides quick-implement. No spec or task-list generation.

init-quick clears stale plan.md/instruction.md on reuse. Docs, manifests, and tests updated.
