Grocery shopping
Say you want to make a run to the grocery store so you ask your housemate if you can borrow the car. They say sure as long as you're back in an hour because they need the car to get to work. Will you be back in time? Maybe Galton can help.
You know from experience that it takes about 10 minutes to drive to the store each way. The time varies a bit depending on traffic, usually between 8 and 15 minutes. Finding a parking spot varies quite a bit more; sometimes you find one right away (20 seconds) but often you have to drive up and down a couple aisles which takes a few minutes.
You count 20 items on your shopping list. Half the time it takes 30 seconds or less to find an item. The time between adding items to your basket can be really quick if they are near each other, but it can also take more than couple minutes if you have to ask an employee to point you in the direction.
