Welcome to the Moon Asset Management documentation repository. This portfolio covers the full lifecycle management of Earth's only natural satellite — 3,474.8 km of diameter, 37.9 million km² of surface area, and approximately 4.51 billion years of operational history — treated as a diversified asset portfolio under active management.
The Moon is not a rock. It is a diversified real-assets portfolio with income-generating surface leases, mineral rights (including proven Helium-3 reserves), solar energy capture infrastructure potential, and a long-running service contract for tidal operations with Earth (in effect since portfolio inception, auto-renewing every 27.32 days).
This repository documents the work of the Asset Management Analyst responsible for tracking, modeling, reporting, and procuring goods and services in support of lunar asset operations.
Note
All financial figures are illustrative. The Moon does not generate revenue. The Moon has never generated revenue. The Moon has never been audited. This is a creative exercise applying real asset management methodology to an unconventional asset class. Please do not make investment decisions based on lunar cash flow projections.

Warning
The Moon portfolio carries several material risks that prospective investors should understand:
- No atmosphere — limits terrestrial leasing models; no weather risk but also no weather insurance market
- Extreme thermal variance — 300°C swing between lunar day and night; impacts HVAC opex projections
- Micrometeorite bombardment — ongoing surface depreciation; no insurance product available
- Orbital drift — Moon recedes from Earth at 3.8 cm/year; long-term service contract revenue at risk
- Synchronous rotation — only one side faces Earth; "far side" assets have zero line-of-sight to primary customer
- Lack of regulatory clarity — no established lunar property rights framework; all leases are aspirational
- Zero historical revenue — the Moon has been free for 4.51 billion years; monetization is speculative
MIT — Because even the Moon needs an open-source license.
Prepared by the Lunar Asset Management Group. This is a creative project and not actual financial advice, investment research, or a real offer to sell securities in the Moon. The Moon is not for sale. It never was. It never will be. But we can model its cash flows 😊
