removed all bad links in readme

Regarding #902

@RichardLitt Went ahead and removed those dead links from the readme. Let me know if you would also like me to update old links that redirect to new ones as I can make a PR for that too. Looks like awesome bot wants to update the redirects according to its workflow. I can do the same for dupe links as well.
