UI Feature

🔖 Feature description

I created a tag, filled in a value and thought "wow, I like tag values!"

I was a bit disappointed to find that you cannot filter by the tag value, which would have completed the use case I had in mind (a tag "Environment" with the different environments as values).

Perhaps this isn't a valid use case for tag values, but I think if tags can be used to filter the list of monitors, and tags can have values, then you should be able to filter by them.

✔️ Solution

An extra dropdown to (optionally) select between values of a selected tag(s).

❓ Alternatives

Not using tag values in this way...

Maybe we are talking about different parts of the UI. Are you running 1.23 with the filter-bar?
In my mind, an extra dropdown does not sound great from a UX perspective. (at least I am not imaginative enough how to implement this without heavy compromises)
Could you provide an annotated screenshot that makes it eazier to visualise what you mean?

Yeah sorry, I should have included that in the description.

So you can see I have two monitors, each with the "Environment" tag, and each with a different value. But, you can only filter on the tag, not the value of that tag.

The extra dropdown was just a passing thought - perhaps there is a way to add a "value" to the existing tag dropdown. From a UX perspective, I think that's messier.

Version is 1.23.0

Yea, the "tags" are more like labels (meaning kv pairs)... and I was just wondering the same. If I can assign a value to a "tab" but not filter by it, what's the purpose?
