My App

Packet Tracer Labs for compTIA Network+

➡️ 2.1.2 Create a Simple Network

This would be a fantastic introduction to networking but if you already had an introduction and you have a computer, you will likely find the majority of these labs incredibly basic. I included notes for the labs I thought were on the more interesting side.

➡️ 4.4.4 Configure a Wireless Router and Client
➡️ 8.1.3 Connect to a Web Server
➡️ 11.2.3 Configure DHCP on a Wireless Router
➡️ 14.3.4 Create a LAN
➡️ 16.5.3 Use FTP Services

I recommend also completing 11.4.4 Build a Switch and Router Network and 12.3.1 Use ICMP to Test and Correct Network Connectivity which are guided activities. These labs were very good at helping me differentiate when to use a rollover vs straight-through cable.

➡️ 10.2.6 Navigate the IOS
➡️ 10.3.3 Use Cisco IOS Show Commands
➡️ 11.1.4 Implement Basic Connectivity
➡️ 11.2.4 Configure Initial Router Settings
➡️ 11.3.6 Configure SSH
➡️ 12.2.6 Verify IPv4 and IPv6 Addressing

➡️ 1.1.4 Cabling in the Physical Workspace and in a Rack
➡️ 1.1.6 Connect Devices using Wireless Technologies
➡️ 2.0.7 Edit Topologies
➡️ 2.1.3 Monitor Your Network Using a Network Controller
➡️ 2.1.5 Manage and Configure your Network using a Network Controller

➡️ 4.4.6 Configure IPv6 Addressing
➡️ 5.1.4 IPv6 Neighbor Discovery
➡️ 7.3.3 Troubleshoot a Wireless Connection

➡️ 1.2.7 Connect a Network Based on a Network Diagram
➡️ 1.2.12 Use CDP to Map a Network
➡️ 1.2.13 Document the Network

There are a few other activities in this course: 4.6.5 Packet Tracer - Configure IP ACLs to Mitigate Attacks and 6.3.11 Configure a ZPF. I wasn't able to get through them without help this round so I'll be trying again after I go through more material.

➡️ 2.5.4 Configure Wireless Router Hardening and Security
➡️ 2.7.13 Implement Physical Security with IoT Devices
➡️ 3.1.14 Configure Access Control
➡️ 3.4.5 Configure Server-Based Authentication with TACACS+ and RADIUS
➡️ 4.5.5 Configure Named Standard IPv4 ACLs
➡️ 4.5.6 Configure Numbered Standard IPv4 ACLs
➡️ 4.5.12 Configure Extended ACLs Scenario 1
➡️ 4.5.13 Configure Extended ACLs Scenario 2
➡️ 4.7.4 Configure IPv6 ACLs
➡️ 10.3.10 Explore a NetFlow Implementation
➡️ 10.3.11 Logging from Multiple Sources

Prior to completing these, I had gone through the Certmaster Learn material. Some of the labs there incorporated Cisco devices but those labs usually fell out of my head after a few days. Knowing that I would move on to CCNA at some point, I wanted to get into Cisco now with my current level of knowledge so I can build on it later.

The Certmaster Learn materials seem adequate for the Net+ exam in terms of labs. The material above helped solidify some topics that were iffy until I was able to work with it. It did make me more confident about starting CCNA!
