    Root cause: not a test regression. Nightly run 39731617931 set up Go 1.26.9 with GOTOOLCHAIN=local (nightly-test-suite.yml pin), but go.mod requires >= 1.26.10 since #24524. Every go test invocation in the suite scripts therefore errored out before running any test — hence "failed (0 failures)" / "no matching tests found" in the log tails of #24541 #24542 #24543 #24544.

    Fix already open and CI-green: PR #24528 bumps all stale 1.26.9 pins including nightly-test-suite.yml. Parked stage/085-needs-decision awaiting maintainer approval. Once merged, the next nightly should pass and this issue can close. Same root cause broke tonight's release (#24538/#24539).

    Root cause confirmed: go.mod requires go >= 1.26.10 (merged in #24524) but this workflow still pins GO_VERSION: '1.26.9'. With GOTOOLCHAIN=local that makes every invocation fail before any test/release step runs:

    This is the same shared-CI incident as #24538/#24539/#24541/#24542/#24543/#24544 — not an independent regression. The fix is already open in #24528 (bumps all 9 occurrences across 8 workflow files, including this one) and parked stage/085-needs-decision pending a maintainer OK to touch .github/workflows/**.

    No new PR needed here — once #24528 merges, this should go green on the next run.

    Root cause (shared across #24541 #24542 #24543 #24544): go.mod requires go >= 1.26.10 (since #24524) but the nightly workflows pin Go 1.26.9 with GOTOOLCHAIN=local, so every go test invocation errored before running any tests — hence "failed (0 failures)" and "no matching tests found".

    Fix: #24528 bumps all stale 1.26.9 pins to 1.26.10 (green, awaiting maintainer lgtm/approve via tide). A scanner PR with the same bump was also requested from branch scanner/fix-24541 as backup. These issues should close once the next nightly passes after the pin bump merges.

    Verified the latest reported nightly run (39909226224) still installs Go 1.26.9, while upstream/main requires Go 1.26.10 in go.mod. The WebSocket fallback invokes go test, so the toolchain mismatch prevents the tests from executing.

    Existing open PR #24528 already changes .github/workflows/nightly-test-suite.yml to Go 1.26.10 and covers this fix. No duplicate implementation is needed. The remaining action is maintainer approval/merge of #24528 (currently labelled stage/085-needs-decision), followed by a nightly rerun to verify recovery before closing this issue.
