Updated this patch to work with Emacs 30.
I still have some issues that I'd like to eventually fix but the patch works in the same way it did for Emacs 29
I also updated the makefile to include the patch by default for versions 30-31.
FYI, I wanted to get this code into the build script and not dependent on my repo since I'm not a dev and I'm likely to push an update that messes up stuff for other users.
