Installs only the official CLI and checks its Linux version. PR132 is now merged; this PR targets main and Codex selection remains unavailable.
Pin @openai/codex 0.167.0 and every optional platform binary with npm integrity hashes. The controller image uses npm ci with lifecycle scripts disabled. A separate Linux CI job runs the installed CLI's --version with an empty temporary home and no inherited authentication environment, then removes only that new temporary directory.
Validation: package/lock dependency parity and integrity entries checked. Exact PR CI42287368096 passed codex (actual Linux installation/version smoke), validate, sandbox and Anton. Existing isolated official macOS package was reused for credential-free protocol fixtures, without downloading another host copy. Runtime protocol integration, guarded inference/accounting, cancellation and live Codex coding certification remain separate prerequisites. No activation, model, budget, credential or permission change. 170 changed lines/five files.
