In my homework, I decided to explore Verrazano data monthly. I focused in the big drop in payments around March 2013. Because of granularity, I found out the drop was exactly in Feb 9 2013. Checking the news, we can see the reason: February 2013 nor'easter (also known as the Blizzard of 2013) was a powerful winter storm, resulting in heavy snowfall and hurricane-force winds.
Still, I wanted to explore a regular month. I ploted March and April to see if I could find something else. And I found out that in weekends, cash payments rise and electronic payments drop in a very consistent way. And finally, I wanted to compare the same month in two different years. But I don't know how overlap values from different years. =/
