Thanks @Ericson2314! This will definitely be helpful for our mac users. I ended up just running NixOS in a vm and everything worked out fine. Just for posterity, I tried this PR on my Mac running Big Sur and it still wasn't having it due to linker errors, but that's a Big Sur issue.
