Multi track audio recording

In the global recording it is possible to record multiple audio tracks:

In source record you can select only a single track:

It would be really nice to have the same multitrack option in source record as the global recording have.

Let me give some more detail of what I am trying to do, maybe it is already possible.

I have these sources and channels:

• HDMI1 (camera via capture card) -> CH1
• HDMI2 (camera via capture card) -> CH2
• Tascam Mic (microphone via audio interface, ASIO 32 bit float using aktAudio DeviceIo2 plugin) -> CH6.

For each camera (HDMI1, HDMI2) I use source record. For each camera I want to record 2 separate audio tracks, the on-camera mic (scratch audio), and the tascam mic (good audio). After recording I use a script to sync the good audio with the scratch audio within each clip, and then the two clips are synced using the good audio in the video editor.

So I would like to record audio like this:

• HDMI1: CH1, CH6 on separate tracks
• HDMI2: CH2, CH6 on separate tracks

I was thinking if I could check boxes for the channels like in global recording settings this would work.

If I use the "All" with empty source field I seem to get all channels (CH1, CH2, CH6) on all clips.

But is this necessary? I mean, if you are recording the main video along with two parallel sources, you should already have the high-quality audio available for syncing. Even with the difference in quality, surely the scratch audio is enough to align them? Alternatively, could you just record the 'good' audio onto both sources and ignore the on-camera mics entirely?"

Yes, I can already get all 3 audio tracks on both of the video tracks and that is enough to do the sync manually. So today I can get:

• Camera1 Video Clip: Camera1Scratch, Camera2Scratch, GoodAudio.
• Camera2 Video Clip: Camera1Scratch, Camera2Scratch, GoodAudio.

The cameras have different video latency so I need to sync GoodAudio with the scratch from the correct camera to make it sync with the corresponding video. The problem with the above is to keep track of which scratch audio is from which camera. I can manually do this but it is a lot of work if you have many clips. To automate it with generic scripts it would help if I could record directly like this:

• Camera1 Video Clip: Camera1Scratch, GoodAudio.
• Camera2 Video Clip: Camera2Scratch, GoodAudio.

Then a generic script could just sync track 2 to track 1 regardless of which camera the clip came from. Then it can delete track 1 and now it is easy to sync the two video clips because both have only 1 audio track which is the same GoodAudio.
