Requirements

• Python 3.7+
• pip package manager

Installation

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/enxgin/code-animation-studio.git
cd code-animation-studio

# Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt

Required packages:

• numpy - Array operations
• opencv-python - Video encoding
• skia-python - GPU rendering
• Pygments - Syntax highlighting
• tkinter - GUI (usually pre-installed with Python)

Usage

GUI Mode

python gui.py

The GUI provides:

• Code editor with syntax highlighting
• Real-time performance estimates
• Visual quality settings
• Theme preview
• Sample code templates

CLI Mode

# Basic usage
python cli.py input.py -o output.mp4

How It Works

1. Input: Code file or string
2. Tokenization: Pygments analyzes code syntax
3. Rendering: Skia GPU renders each frame with typing effect
4. Encoding: OpenCV creates MP4 video

Adding Custom Themes

Add your theme to the THEMES dictionary in render.py:

Troubleshooting

Slow rendering:

• Lower quality setting
• Reduce resolution
• Increase typing speed

Memory issues:

• Use lower quality for long videos
• Process in smaller chunks

Font issues:

• Install Monaco (macOS) or Consolas (Windows)
