I have proposed adding two packages that do power, effect size, and sample size calculations for multilevel experiments. PowerUpR is a package that is particularly popular in the education research community, where hierarchical multilevel experiments are common. I am a co-author of the PUMP package, which extends the functionality of PowerUpR to accommodate experiments with multiple outcomes.
