+Carrying capacity is the number of livestock a piece of land can support without degrading. Push past it for too long and the rangeland's ability to recover starts to erode — the core driver of desertification across the steppe.
+
+GreenZone estimates carrying capacity from predicted plant biomass and converts it into familiar units, then compares it against actual livestock numbers. The result is a simple status for each area: **below**, **at**, or **above** what the land can sustain.
+
+On the platform, those statuses become the colored cells you see on the map. Green means there's headroom; red means grazing pressure has crossed the line. Our goal is to make that distinction visible early enough to do something about it.

+Every spring, herders across Mongolia ask the same question: will there be enough grass this year? GreenZone was built to help answer it earlier and with more confidence, by turning decades of satellite imagery into a picture of rangeland health that updates year after year.

+Our models look at vegetation indices like **NDVI** alongside precipitation, temperature, snow cover, and soil characteristics. Where the signal points to vegetation falling short of what the land can normally support, we flag it — long before the shortfall becomes visible on the ground.
