Agent cannot create recurring reminders / to-dos for non-owner chat participants #4221

Closed

Description

@pjhsion

Summary

A chat-bot agent built on senpi was asked, in a group chat, to (1) add a to-do item for a non-owner participant and (2) send that participant a recurring daily 9:00 AM reminder. The agent could not do either and had no supported way to report the gap.

Expected

  • Per-participant to-do/reminder records (not only owner-scoped records).
  • A scheduler that can deliver a recurring message into a specific chat room or to a specific participant, with owner approval.

Actual

  • Personal records and scheduled reminders are owner-scoped only; the agent can only refuse.
  • Recurring delivery to a third party has no real scheduler path, so the request cannot be fulfilled.

Suggested direction

Allow owner-approved recurring jobs targeting a room/participant, and expose a clear capability error so the agent can state the limitation instead of promising.

    Not a senpi issue; fixed in our own bot code. Filed by mistake.
