Assembly Tips

Below you will find some tips regarding unique parts that don't exist in the Original Switchwire Assembly:

  • Y front idler is a reworked version of Triano's front idler. It is using a single screw to pull the idler assembly back and tighten the belt.

  • Y motor mount needs 2 (two) M3 heated inserts, in order to mount rigidly with the rear mid grill. In case you are an Ender 3 V2 user, you also need the y_motor_mount_bracket_enderV2.stl which snaps in the Y motor mount and adds 10mm of length. This is needed since Ender 3 V2's Y extrusion is 10mm shorter than the one found on Ender 3 Pro.

  • Since the bottom Y extrusions are short and cannot serve (at least in whole), as mounting points for the enclosure, an extension deck had to be made. The deck is fitted on a bracket, serving as a multi-mounting point for the deck, the Y extrusion and the Mini12864 LCD.

  • To stay close to the way the panels attach to each other in the original Switchwire, 2 (two) new sticky brackets were made for the bottom front panel. However, (in order to achieve modularity and being able to, easily, take off the enclosure for maintenance purposes) these brackets have the ability to split with screws.
