Development

Before running the test suite, download the necessary test data by executing the following make commands:

git lfs fetch

Once the test data is downloaded, users can run various make commands to execute tests based on their changes:

test:         run short-running automated tests
testgrid:     run grid-specific automated tests
testall:      run all tests, excluding grid-specific tests

Before pushing any changes, users can automatically format their code using Python's code formatter, Black:
