AWS Full-Stack Hackathon Deployment Demo

This project is a demo full-stack template designed to show hackathon participants how to deploy a real production-style application using AWS services. It demonstrates how modern teams ship applications quickly using managed cloud infrastructure.

Overview

The template includes:

  • Frontend connected to a backend API
  • Automated deployment using AWS Amplify
  • CI/CD pipeline triggered by GitHub commits
  • Preview deployments for pull requests
  • File and asset storage using Amazon S3

The goal is to help developers move from local development to a live, publicly accessible application with minimal setup.

Key Concepts Demonstrated

  • GitHub-based deployment workflow
  • Automatic builds and hosting with AWS Amplify
  • Continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Preview environments for safe testing
  • Cloud storage using Amazon S3

As shown in the workshop architecture, code pushed to GitHub automatically triggers Amplify builds and deploys a live version of the app, while S3 handles file storage and assets. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

Purpose

This project serves as a reference implementation for:

  • Hackathon teams deploying their first cloud app
  • Learning real deployment workflows used in industry
  • Understanding how frontend, backend, CI/CD, and storage integrate together

Why This Matters

Many hackathon projects fail during deployment due to lack of proper infrastructure. This template provides a reliable workflow so teams can focus on building features instead of worrying about deployment.

Stack

  • AWS Amplify (Hosting, CI/CD)
  • Amazon S3 (Storage)
  • GitHub (Version control & deployment trigger)
  • Full-stack web app template (frontend + backend)
