Hey @JohannesBuchner, Wow thanks for submitting this PR! I will review and see if this is something we can accept directly. At the least we can use this as a starting point for addressing #88. Also I don't have an ETA but we are aiming to update our supported Python versions as soon as we can. Additionally, as you pointed out we do not have a |

Unfortunately I cannot test the current code base, because my python is 3.12.3.
