We skip statement-level source-location lookup for single-name assignments and function and class definitions. These paths set expression, target, or definition locations before emitting instructions; outer location restoration and pending-comprehension handling remain unchanged.
Matched Python 3.15 O2 profiles use about 0.05% fewer instructions for Mypy and 0.08% fewer for SymPy. The 177-case instruction geometric mean improves by 0.06%, with individual changes from -0.48% to +0.26%. All measured project outputs are byte-identical.
