What happened?
I use hyper (cmd, opt, ctrl, shift) and meh (opt, ctrl, shift) to do fun single hotkey app switching kinds of stuff (shoutout to ThePrimeagen for inspo to have single stroke app switching vibes).
Any who, while listening to this fresh album and switching between apps, I would notice the audio would go into "low res" mode, which is what I associate as happening when the microphone turns on with the AirPods and the bandwidth is constrained for both sound in and captured audio out. I suspect the HEX hotkey of option or shift+control are getting triggered but not triggered. I think that's because the hyper+Letter combo includes the HEX hotkey and briefly triggers it but then it like doesn't match so HEX actually never fires. But! The damage is done and the audio blips as if it loaded.
Cool app regardless! Big win to use this with the simple but nice UX and local models (i work in healthcare, so anything with servers has to go through security review, which is not fast).
Steps to reproduce
- Be on macOS Golden Gate
- Have some kind of hyper key combo that includes the hotkey of HEX
- Have AirPods/bluetooth playing music (something high quality so you can notice the shift from "good tunes" to "old timey radio")
- Trigger the hyper key combo and see audio get weird
