Remapped Caps Lock also activates a Right Control dictation shortcut

Hi,

just moved to the new Mac Rust version 2.1.2, thanks for your great work. HEx is an awesome tool.

Problem: I set the dictation shortcut to right ctrl. But weirdly, as soon as I press left command and left option together, the green dictation pill appears, turns red, a error sound comes and it disappears again.

v2.1.3 is now live with a fix for this. Command-Option was triggering Voice Action, a separate OpenCode-powered feature; rebinding Dictation didn't disable that shortcut. It could show the HUD and then error when OpenCode wasn't available.

Voice Action now starts off, including after upgrading, and only activates after you explicitly enable it in the Voice Action pane. Saved shortcuts and models are preserved. Please update through Check for Updates and let me know whether Command-Option still triggers capture with Voice Action off. Thanks for reporting it!

@kitlangton one thing to mention which now came in as a regression:

1. I mapped caps lock to Control via the Mac System Settings, as many people do.
2. I set Hex to right control
3. Hex now triggers also at caps lock, which is definitely not right ctrl.

Expected Behaviour: When I set it to both ctrl, it should trigger, when i set it to left or right ctrl it should only trigger with THAT key.

Hex 2.1.7 is now live with a fix for the remapped Control case. Left/right-only shortcuts now require the corresponding side's event flag; a side-less Control event no longer counts as Right Control. Either still accepts it, and releasing Right Control finishes its capture even if a side-less Control remains held.

Could you update through Check for Updates and confirm that your Caps Lock remapping no longer activates the right-Control shortcut? Thanks for the clear reproduction steps.

@kitlangton Nearly perfect. Unfortunately it seems to map the former-CapsLock-Now-Ctrl as RIGHT ctrl despite its on the left side of the keyboard. Means: I map shortcut to right ctrl and it triggers both on right ctrl and caps lock. i map it to left ctrl and it fires only at left ctrl but not on caps lock. On Either it fires on all of them. Not sure if theres anything you can do. Screenshot of remapping attached.

I have retitled this to track the remaining Caps Lock remapping problem. The original Command-Option/Voice Action conflict is resolved, but your last report shows the physical remap case is not.

The current regression covers a Control event with no left/right flag. It does not cover macOS reporting a remapped Caps Lock as actual Right Control. Can you confirm whether this still happens in 2.1.17, and whether it is the built-in keyboard or an external one? We need that physical mapping case before changing the side-matching rules again.
