Jurassic Sphere is an interactive dinosaur-themed web experience built as our end-semester project.
It doesn’t solve a real-world problem, but it was chosen because of its cool factor and creativity among all available project options.
- Roaring Dino Icon: Clicking the landing page icon triggers a dinosaur roar.
- Scroll Animation: On scrolling, a dinosaur video appears, giving the feel of a 3D model.
- Interactive Dino Scope Page:
- Embedded YouTube videos displayed in a horizontal scroll using overflow auto.
- Card-based dinosaur facts with a flip animation (hover to flip and reveal info).
- Fun Animations: Engaging hover effects and theme-based styling throughout the site.
- Deployed on Netlify for easy access.
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript (basic usage but learned & implemented during development)
- Netlify for deployment
- Implementing the card flip animation for dinosaur facts took significant brainstorming to perfect the transitions.
- Balancing interactivity with simplicity as we were just starting out with JavaScript.
If taken further, Jurassic Sphere could evolve into:
- A dynamic dinosaur encyclopedia with community contributions.
- Discussion forums for dinosaur enthusiasts.
- Integration of chat features.
- A merchandise store for dinosaur-themed collectibles.
